Colorado Earthship in a great location

Our earthship

From 1997 to 2004, my wife Elena and I built a large Earthship-style sustainable home on a 40 acre lot with National forest boundaries on two sides, and with 360 degree views of the mountains, plains and the Air Force academy grounds. The house is built into a ridge that comes down off Mt Herman in Monument, Colorado.

It is located three miles from the town of Monument and is a 20 minute drive to northern Colorado Springs and 40 minutes from south Denver. The house is very secluded but is convenient for commuting and for access to the big city amenities.

Wildlife abounds in the area and on the property. Mule deer are daily visitors, and foxes, coyotes, rabbits, and occasionally bears can be seen. From Spring to Fall, the meadows are filled with the fragrance and beauty of wildflowers. In the winter, snowstorms blanket the land with a white crystal carpet and reveal the tracks of the wildlife as they forage for food.

We might have lived there forever but life has a way of changing ones plans. We now work overseas and need to sell the property and move on with our lives. A subdivision of the property is complete except for the final recording and we are offering the property for sale in a variety of ways. The Earthship can be bought on 6 acres, on 40 acres or we can offer the three individual properties together for a fire sale price. We can also offer the subdivided lots individually.

We recently had the Earthship on 6 acres listed on MLS for $350,000, and the lots listed for $230,000 and $190,000. We are currently prepared to sell all three properties to one buyer for under $500,000.
